Our school is connected to eduroam
The eduroam federation is an international project concerned with supporting mobility and roaming in National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). In the Czech Republic, this project is covered by the CESNET association. Our school joined the project in 2025. This was another step taken to increase the quality of study provision and the prestige of the institution.
One account. Anywhere.
A registered participant can use this wireless network (wherever available) using a single user account. The home (establishing) organization manages the account.
The use of roaming is simple; a properly configured participant's device connects automatically as soon as the eduroam network is available. This works similarly to connecting to foreign mobile operator networks within the framework of roaming. This is where the acronym comes from: education roaming
The service is free for all participants.
Activating the eduroam account
In eduroam, a user name consisting of two parts is used – the username itself and the realm. After the username you are used to from other school systems, you will add the @ sign and the realm sps-cl.cz as part of roaming.
Configuring user devices to connect to eduroam
For a secure connection to eduroam, simply entering a username and password is not enough. You must also set up certificate verification, which is easiest to do using eduroam CAT or geteduroam, see the documentation at eduroam.cz .
For manual setup, you will need the following information:
- network name (SSID): eduroam
- connection protocol: 802.1x
- security and encryption: WPA2/AES
- authentication: PEAP (alternatively TTLS)
- internal authentication protocol: MS-CHAPv2
- RADIUS server name: radius.sps-cl.cz
- domain name (Android): sps-cl.cz
- certification authority: DigiCert Global Root G2
- The IP address is assigned automatically via DHCP.
Covered areas
eduroam is broadcast in all classrooms and in the dormitory premises
Traffic filtering
The traffic of school students is filtered in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic.
We do not interfere with visitor traffic, except for filtering outgoing SMTP traffic (TCP/25). To send email, please use secure mail services such as SMTPS (TCP/465) or SMTP with STARTTLS (TCP/587).
Support
Users of our school/institution can contact us by email at eduroam@sps-cl.cz or by phone at +420 123 456 789.
Visitors with an eduroam account should seek support primarily from their home institution, i.e. the one that provided them with the account.
